Steamed fillet of plaice, Sauted Spinach and white wine sauce

A lovely light dish, you can change the plaice for any other white fish if you wanted too, but it works really well with this lovely and relatively cheap fish. Try where possible to buy fresh fish from a fishmongers, its worth the effort. Same with the herbs, must be fresh with this not dried.

This recipe serves 2.


  • 2 skinless and boneless fillets of plaice
  • 250g Spinach
  • 25g Frozen peas
  • 1 x banana shallot
  • 75ml dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon low fat creme freche
  • Small bunch of fresh taragon
  • Small bunch of fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Sea salt
  • Black pepper
  • Kale
